Project Avalon - Putting everything together and taking the next step

With Project Avalon, Citrix is putting everything together that will allow Citrix Service Providers (CSP) to deliver Windows as a Service and Desktop as a Service while providing the ability for a self-service portal for creating virtual machines and a self-service app store. Here is a graphic depicting all of my last posts into a very nice solution.

As you can see from the graphic, it can use any hypervisor or cloud which is great for companies that are not looking to change what they currently have. This soution provides everything a hosting company could want in a nutshell.

I really like what what Citrix has put together. what was demo'ed at Synergy showed that anytype of FlexCast deployment can be extended to CloudStack or AWS. That is pretty awesome. As oranizations move toward private clouds, having a hosting company that has this type of flexibility will be appleaing to them.

CloudGateway - App Store

CloudPortal - Self-Service, Metering, Chargeback

XenDesktop - FlexCast

ShareFile - Follow-Me Data

CloudBridge - connect to any Cloud

CloudStack - The Citrix CloudPlatform

Cloud Scale Automation - CSP have this for elastic scalability

How this fits into MCPc's anyplace workspace™ framework, well, this is the part that doesn't exist yet, My Cloud.
