This hotfix resolves the following issues:ES-1202: The CPU usage is over allocated and VMs cannot be deployed because of insufficient CPU capacity.
Installing the Hotfix
The attachment to this article is a zip file. It contains the hotfix update package. Use the following steps to install this update. As with any software update, please back up your data before applying this hotfix.- Stop the Management Servers. Run this command on all Management Server hosts:
# service cloudstack-management stop - Go to /usr/share/cloudstack-management/webapps/client/WEB-INF/lib
- Verify the MD5 for old jar file:
#md5sum cloud-vmware-base-4.2.0.jar
cf745ac94c30380e7d8adfd6148a3451 cloud-vmware-base-4.2.0.jar - Once confirmed, take a back up of cloud-vmware-base-4.2.0.jar.
mv cloud-vmware-base-4.2.0.jar cloud-vmware-base-4.2.0.jar.bkup - Replace cloud-vmware-base-4.2.0.jar with the one from the patch.
- Verify again the MD5 of the new jar file:
#md5sum cloud-vmware-base-4.2.0.jar
d80cac508e8e29a4a5420649d67c008b cloud-vmware-base-4.2.0.jar
Ensure that the MD5 of both Jar files are matching. - Start the first Management Server.
# service cloudstack-management start - Log in to the CloudPlatform UI as administrator, and check the status of the hosts. All hosts should come to Up state (except those that you know to be offline). You may need to wait 20 or 30 minutes, depending on the number of hosts.
Troubleshooting: If login fails, clear your browser cache and reload the page.
