Announcing our partnership with Couchbase

Today, I'm proud to announce that CumuLogic has formally entered into a partnership with Couchbase.

From CumuLogic's perspective, one of the primary drivers for this new partnership is direct customer demand to support Couchbase within our DBaaS platform. Moreover, as CumuLogic has worked with both enterprises and cloud service providers from around the globe, there's a clear indication that NoSQL-style databases are growing in use across a broad spectrum of development communities. Of particular note, the clear value of NoSQL to the mobile application developer community is obvious. Couchbase is especially strong in the mobile application space, offering the Couchbase Server, Couchbase Lite and the Couchbase Sync Gateway.

Just as important as the interest in NoSQL-style databases (such as Couchbase), is the increasingly common expectation that NoSQL services be available as a true "service" for the developers and application operators to consume. The value that developers see in a DBaaS approach to data services is being able to select the right database for the job, and to ensure that the setup and management of these systems is as automated as possible. For our customers, CumuLogic is an easy choice to add these valuable services to their environment, be they public cloud providers or enterprise teams that want DBaaS on any infrastructure. This gives developers the databases they want, and the operations team a common platform for operations and management on whatever infrastructure they want to use.

CumuLogic's goal with this partnership is to ensure that our shared customers are able to truly see an example of where 1+1=3. Over the next several months, we will be working closely with the Couchbase team to improve and extend the existing Couchbase database engine support within our CumuLogic Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) Platform. We will be working on adding support for the recently released Couchbase Server 3, dramatically increasing the level of Couchbase Server configuration granularity from within the DBaaS constructs, and providing one click deployment of managed Couchbase Sync Gateways as part of a data services topology.

CumuLogic is committed to offering our customers a world-class data services platform, and this partnership is another significant step along our journey. It is partnerships like this that allow CumuLogic to provide our customers with the technically robust and operationally resilient multi-engine DBaaS capabilities that they have come to expect from our software.
