Great news for all Citrix Workspace app mobile and tablet users! Apple has just rolled out iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, and we are thrilled to announce Day 0 support with Citrix Workspace app, making it fully compatible with the new OS versions. In partnership with Apple, Citrix strives towards delivering the best possible experience natively for end users. Here are some additional upcoming features we are working on.
Interactive widget
Apple has really upped its game with iOS 17 and iPadOS 17. They’ve introduced a new feature called ‘Interactive Widgets.’ These widgets are like mini-apps that live right on your home or lock screen. They’re super handy because they let you do stuff in your apps without even opening them.
As a Citrix Workspace app user, you can set up the Citrix Workspace app as one of these widgets. That means you can launch your web/SaaS apps or desktop sessions in a flash without having to navigate through your device.
That’s not all! Your favorite and recently used apps within the Workspace app will be elegantly displayed in the widget too. This means that all the apps you rely on are just a tap away, providing a seamless and efficient way to access your work or personal apps.
Here’s how you can set up the Workspace app as a widget:
External webcam support
With iPadOS 17, Apple has announced support for external USB-based webcams and professional cameras with a webcam mode. You can now use external cameras to change your default point-of-view, move your external camera around while keeping your iPad docked, and use higher-definition cameras for video calls. Citrix Workspace supports these external camera use cases within your DaaS session.
A new toggle for camera selection in-session
Once you’re inside your Citrix DaaS session and using a VC app like Teams, Zoom, etc., the default camera floating icon will change to a camera selection icon whenever an external camera is detected. Tapping on it will allow you to switch between the external, front, and rear cameras. Showcase external camera content like a team huddle and switch back to your front camera to continue your conversation dynamically within the same call.
Citrix Workspace app will remember your preferred camera
The system will remember your preference the next time you log in. So, if your external camera is already connected, and you ended your previous call using that camera, we use that as the default. Super simple! The same applies if you used your front camera in your previous call.
Improvements with Stage Manager
Citrix Workspace app already supports Stage Manager, so with the iPadOS 17 improvements for better resizing and multitasking, you can bring your cross-platform productivity to a whole new level. Use native iPad OS apps flexibly alongside Citrix Workspace and combine the best of both platforms.
Get Started
Seamless compatibility with iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 empowers Citrix Workspace users with interactive widgets, external webcam support, and enhanced multitasking. Get ready to elevate your productivity and enjoy a streamlined experience with these upcoming innovative features.
Upgrade your Citrix Workspace app to the latest iOS and iPadOS versions and enjoy a smoother, more efficient workflow.
